Meet Adoption Law Firm Legal Assistant Joy May

Joy May has worked with the Law Office of Tammi J. Driver since January 2015. As the legal assistant, she assists birth parents and adoptive parents with various steps in the adoption process. Her role includes drafting documents for consents, placement, termination of parental rights, and finalization of adoption. She also completes and submits the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children (ICPC) packet for out-of-state families accepting placement in Florida.

Working in the adoption field since 2002, Joy began as a receptionist for an adoption attorney and agency. She trained on the job and was promoted to a case management position. During her career, Joy’s focus has been on managing cases, assisting with the day-to-day needs of birth parents and adoptive parents, and preparing legal documents.

Joy attended Hillsborough Community College. She believes every child deserves the best life possible and dedicates herself to helping make that possible. She feels honored to be a part of creating families.
